HCM 9.2: Data Validation Error on Manage Job Opening After Job Code Updates

Symptoms
The Manage Job Opening Page is unexpectedly producing a error when a job opening is created using a position number, then the job code for the position is changed in both Position Management and then on the job opening that was previously created.
ERROR MESSAGE:
Position Number is required when Position Management is set to Full. (18176,6220)
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1.Ensure Position Management is set to ‘Full’
a. Navigate to: Set Up HCM > Install > Installation Table > HCM Options
2. Create a new Job Opening
a .Navigate to: Recruiting > Create Job Opening
b .Enter job details using an existing Position Number (ex. 19000001):
c. Click Continue
d. Job Opening populates with Position details:
e. Click Save and Open and note the Job Opening ID assigned
3. Update Job Code on Position in Position Management
a. Navigate to: Organizational Development > Position Management > Maintain Positions/Budgets > Add/Update Position Info
b. Search for the Position Number used in the job opening
c. Add a new effective dated row or edit in Correction Mode)
d. Select a Reason Code (ex. JRC)
e. Change Job Code from existing value to a different value (ex. from 700005 to 700000)
f. Click Save and click through any warnings
4. Return to Job Opening and Update Job Code to New Value
a. Navigate to Recruiting > Search Job Openings
b. Search for previously created Job Opening
c. Select Job Opening
d. On the Details tab of the Manage Job Opening page, change the value of the Job Code from the previous value to the new value (ex. from 700005 to 700000):
e. Click Save
f. Record saves and “Job code has changed. Check qualifications before submitting.” Warning displays. Click OK.
g. Attempt to make an additional change to the details (ex. change target openings)
h. Click Save and error message displays.
