Symptoms
The process Build Combination Data is showing performance issues at the step FS_CEBD_BCDT. Inscombo.Step05.%UpdateStats SQL .
Issue can be replicated following the next steps :
1.Navigation: Main Menu > Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Common Definitions > Design Chartfields > Combination Editing > Combination Rule
2. A combination rule is created which generated huge data (around 123 millions rows of data)
3. In “Chartfield Combinations” page, this rule used Account, project and department values from trees to build the combination definition.
4. Since these tree nodes have huge amount of data, the combination data created was multiplied to form a total of 123 millions rows.
5. When Process FS_CEBD was run, it had to process this huge data, which took 2+ hours' time.
6. Customer tried to delete it using Combination Copy/Rename/Delete (GLS4003). Navigation for it: Main Menu > Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Common Definitions > Design ChartFields > Combination Editing > Combo Copy/Rename/Delete
5. After removing the data from the PS_COMBO_DATA_TBL using above process and running the FS_ CEBD process again, it is taking 1 hour to complete with maximum time in the UpdateStats section (55 mins).
