EGL9.2.Simple Journal Displays PC Chartfields Even Though Project Costing Is Not Enabled (Doc ID 3035335.1)

Symptoms

After implementing Simple Journal functionality , the system displays the Project Costing fields (PC Business Unit and Activity) (this is on the Lines section Chartfields tab).Customer has not enabled Project Costing or any PC related chartfields anywhere in the system.System should only display the active chartfields as per the chartfield display template.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1.  Go to Setup Financials>Installations>Instalation option- uncheck Project costing.
  2. Go to Setup Fin>Common Definition>Design Chartfields>Chartfield Display Templates>Define Chartfield template AllCFS.
  3. Go to Simple Journal types and add Journal Type ONL( Setup Financial>Common Definition>Journals>Simple Journal Types
  4. Go to Configure Simple Jrnl template and configure the Journal Type ONL ( Setup Fin> Common Definition>Journals> Configure Simple Jrnl Template ).
  5. Go to Assign CF display templates and assign ALLCFS to components JOURNAL_DETAIL_FL ( Setup Fin>Common Definition>Design Chartfields >Chartfield Display Templates>Assign cf display templates).
  6. Go to Define Journal Entry Template and uncheck PC chartfields for Default template.( Setup financial>common definition>journal >define journal entry template).
  7. Go to Home>Finance and Accounting >Simple journal tile and add a journal.
  8. Add header and lines. Notice that on the lines there are all the PC chartfields displayed even if they are not selected to be displayed and Project Costing is not checked on Installation.
