Loan Origination 'Incomplete Origination'..'Zero Dollar Disbursement Amount' Message in FAPLBOG1 Log File

Information in this document applies to any platform.
When attempting to run loan origination, one or more students fail to originate, while others may originate successfully. When examining the log file, the message for the student(s) that did not not originate says "Incomplete Origination for <emplid> , <item type> , <disbursement id> - Zero dollar disbursement amount". The issue may be seen more often with Commonline Loans, versus Direct Loans.
The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
- Run the Loan Origination process on Financial Aid > Loans > Process Loans > Loan Origination.
- Click Process Monitor link and refresh until process ends in 'Success' status.
- Click Details link, then link that says 'View Log/Trace', and look in the File List for the file containing FAPLBOG1 and ending in the .log extension.
- Click into the file and note the 'Incomplete Origination' message(s).
