Symptoms
PeopleSoft Asset Management Information Center > Listing of AMDPREPT Error Messages and Troubleshooting Tips to Resolve Each Error > Note 648454.1
The AMDPREPT process is failing when running certain books with the following error:
SQL error. Stmt #: 1604 Error Position: 0 Return: 1407 - ORA-01407: cannot update ("SYSADM"."PS_DEPR_RP4_TMP"."TRANS_CODE") to NULL
I verified that all rows in the source tables for TRANS_CODE were not null - they either had a value or were blank. Process is failing only on certain books - traced the AMDPREPT application engine program and checked the temp tables, and found no nulls in the source temp tables used either. This appears to be a problem with how the SQL is written that its results pull back a null when all the TRANS_CODE values are blank in the source.
