Symptoms

Starting with 8.48 PeopleTools version there are different data type mappings between PeopleSoft field types and the underlying Oracle system. When a new field is created and it is used to build a SQL table, all the long character PeopleSoft fields type are converted in CLOB Oracle fields type when n = 0, or n > 4000 in ANSI.

The issue appears after upgrading to PTools 8.48 or higher versions having issues with Queries that contain long fields that were converted to CLOBs during the upgrade. Using keywords such as DISTINCT, COUNT and UNION command on the PeopleSoft long character field type that are mapping the data within CLOB Oracle field type this error appears:

"Code=932, Message=ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected - got CLOB"
