Siebel 8.1.1.2 ESD does not start using JDK 1.5.0.22, getting error: Unable to connect to siebel . Esd Module Is Not Licensed! (Doc ID 1179223.1)

Last updated on JULY 25, 2022

Applies to:

Siebel Email Marketing Server - Version 8.1 [21039] to 8.2.2.4.9 [IP2013] [Release V8]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Installed the Email Marketing Server on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.0 server (32 bit version) and tried to start the Email Sending Daemon (ESD) component. When the esd.log file is checked, I could see the error "ERROR OnPremiseAppListener ESD module is not licensed!". We used the JDK version, jdk-1_5_0_22-linux-i586.bin, corresponding to the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.0.
