Invoking Inbound Web Services over HTTPS (SSL) / SecureBrowse, SecureLogin and enforcessl (Doc ID 1334290.1)

Symptoms

Issue :

Customer was trying to configure SSL Server authentication for Siebel Inbound Web services. They were using Self Signed certificate for the purpose. The self signed server certificate was installed on the Siebel web server, and it was confirmed that the web server URL can be accessed fine over https.

i.e https//xx.yy.zz.aa:4443 --> works fine

However, Fusion Middleware (FMW) could not invoke siebel web services over HTTPS.
Siebel dedicated client also failed with the below error, so did SOAP UI (3.1) throw some SSL handshake error.

'The certificate authority is invalid or incorrect ', code: '12045'


It  was UNIX  based platform and Oracle HTTP Server was used as the Siebel web server.
