Upgrade/Disconnect Promotion - Wrong Action Codes for Promotion Components (Doc ID 1381354.1)

Symptoms

Customer would like to upgrade promotion A to promotion B. They have a simple product under promotion A which is allowed under promotion B. In the created order it is expected that this simple product has an order line item with action code = Delete, instead it is present with action code = Update although the promotion component is defined as "Disconnect" under the promotion product definition view:

 1) Promotion A
               |_ Simple product X, action code = Disconnect
               |_ Customizable product 1, action code = Modify
              |_ Customizable product 2, action code = Modify

2) Promotion B
               |_ Simple product Y
               |_ Customizable product 1 (with different childs)
               |_ Customizable product 2 (with different childs)

3) Upgrade promotion via Modify Order from A to B
               Promotion A --> Action = Delete
                  |_ Simple product X --> Action = Update´--> this is wrong!

               Promotion B --> Action = Add
                  |_ Simple product Y --> Action = Add
                  |_ Customizable product 1 (with different childs) --> Action = Update
                  |_ Customizable product 2 (with different childs) --> Action = Update

 There is no error message. Customer expects to see action "Delete" instead of  "Update" for product x.
