Symptoms
Summary:
When logging into Siebel application version 8.1.1.9 over HTTPS - the Login Page is refreshed creating two separate sessions on the Siebel Server. This behavior depends on the URL schema loaded in the Web browser.
Steps:
The following steps DO NOT exhibit the behavior above,
1a. Load URL http://hostname.com/callcenter_enu
1b. URL redirected to Siebel Login Page with HTTPS
1c. Enter credentials
1d. Siebel Session created
1b. URL redirected to Siebel Login Page with HTTPS
1c. Enter credentials
1d. Siebel Session created
The following steps DO exhibit the behavior above,
2a. Load URL https://hostname.com/callcenter_enu
2b. Siebel Login Page displayed without redirect
2c. Enter credentials
2d. Login page loaded again
2e. Re-enter credentials
2f. Siebel Session created
2g. Open Siebel Server Manager and note that there are 2 active sessions for this login attempt
2b. Siebel Login Page displayed without redirect
2c. Enter credentials
2d. Login page loaded again
2e. Re-enter credentials
2f. Siebel Session created
2g. Open Siebel Server Manager and note that there are 2 active sessions for this login attempt
Business Impact:
Additional Siebel sessions created on Login will affect the capacity of the Siebel Server application object manager processes
