Information in this document applies to any platform.

Details

Today Siebel Application Architecture (SAI) provides limited support for inbound web services but no outbound web services.

However,  SAI Inbound REST and Web Services are not recommended for use in new projects as Oracle has ceased to enhance SAI Web Services.

For customers choosing to use SAI services as a stopgap Oracle recommends using Innovation Pack 2014 release,
which has the most complete SAI implementation and testing planned integrations prior to placing into production to validate full function due to the lack of enhancements.

SAI features are in a frozen state.
WARNING: the SAI Support is ended as of Siebel  15 release (was also known as Siebel Innovation Pack 2015). SAI is removed in Siebel 16 onwards.

Customers must validate that functional requirements of implementation for the use case are met prior to implementing as SAI is not receiving maintenance fixes.

Oracle will provide enhancements to EAI web services,  Oracle recommends moving from container based SAI web service to native web services once these become available in EAI.  Siebel web service enhancements to offer REST and JSON as well as SAML and WSS are currently planned for delivery in the future Innovation Pack
