Internet SMTP/IMAP Server Driver Fails To Login To IMAP Server With Error Message: "nullAUTHENTICATE failed" (Doc ID 2286231.1)

Symptoms

The Internet SMTP/IMAP Server driver for Siebel Email Response module fails to pull email from the IMAP Server and create activities in Siebel.

The configuration was done as per Document "How To Set Up Internet SMTP/IMAP Server Driver To Work with Siebel Email Response Module(Doc ID 1512349.1)", but although all the configuration is set properly, the following error message can be observed in the IMAPSMTP_xx_xxx_xxx_xxx.log file for the Internet SMTP/IMAP Server driver session trying to connect to the IMAP Server:

Customer test with standard msgshow java application available with JavaMail API and it show the same error too nullAUTHENTICATE failed. , this is command below:

java -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore="C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.8.0_101\jre\lib\security\cacerts" -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword="changeit" msgshow -T imaps -H myIMAPHostname -p 993 -U test01 -P test02 -f INBOX 1

But after adding the parameter "-Dmail.imaps.auth.plain.disable=true -Dmail.imaps.auth.ntlm.disable=true -Dmail.imaps.auth.gssapi.disable=true" it worked fine for msgshow standard JavaMail API Application. But adding the same in Siebel JVM Options for EMRJavaSubsys or the JMailClient command line does not help to avoid the problem.

Customer is connecting to a MS Exchange 2013 with IMAP protocol enabled.
