OpenUI Error Popup not Getting Closed in Chrome

Error Popup not getting closed in Siebel Open UI when click OK or X icon in the window or ESC key.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
Step 1: Login to Siebel Open UI and Select Service Request tab
Step 2: Select All Service Requests
Step 3: Click on ‘New’ button
Step 4: Click on ‘Contact Last Name’
Step 5: Click on ‘Create New Contact’
Step 6: Enter Work Phone# (Incorrect Length) and save the record.
Error thrown "Can't convert formatted string to its internal representation. Check if your data is in correct format"
click X and OK not closing the popup have to close the current session by closing the browser tab is the only option here.
