Setting responsibilities to read-only still allows new records to be created
I have a requirement to create a responsibility that allows users to read Quote information, but not add, edit or delete.
In a vanilla Siebel environment, I copied the Quote User responsibility and checked "Read Only View" on all the views.
Then I logged in as a user with the custom Quote User responsibility. On the quote screens, the New button is still active and allows me to create quote records. When I go to the quote line items, a MultiAdd button is active, which allows me to add line items. All other aspects of the quote are read-only as expected.
Why do the NEW button and MultiAdd buttons allow me to create new records when the "Read Only View" is checked on all the views?
NEW button and MultiAdd buttons are disabled since it is "Read Only View".
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. In a vanilla Siebel environment, I copied the Quote User responsibility and checked "Read Only View" on all the views, in Administration - Application > Responsibilities, and add a user under Users to the new responsibility.
2. Log in as the user with the custom Quote User responsibility.
3. Go to Quote, click on New to create a new Quote, associate an account.
After the Quote is saved, it is read only.
4. Drill down on Quote, choose Line Items, the + button doesn't work, but
click on MultiAdd button to create a new line item. After Line Item is saved, it is read only.
