How To Configure IP17 Using URL Rewrite To Allow URL Compatibility With Previous Versions (Doc ID 2306194.1)

Purpose

 IP2017 uses Tomcat instead of web servers and SWSE and it doesn't support virtual directories. The URLs in IP2017 have changed to look as follows:

https://siebelserver:port/siebel/app/[siebel_app_name]/[lang]/

[siebel_app_name] is configured in AI Profile in Siebel Management Console (SMC)

Example: https://siebelserver:9001/siebel/app/eai/enu/

 

Prior to IP2017, Siebel URLs looked like this: https://siebelserver:port/eai_enu/start.swe

URL mapping was provided out of box to map /eai_lang/start.swe to /siebel/app/eai/lang/

 

Some customers have custom EAI components that have different URLs. This can create an issue for external systems that connect to Siebel. Tomcat supports URL rewrite which can create an acceptable workaround.
