17.6 Patching Failed (Doc ID 2386233.1)

Symptoms

On :  17.6 [IP2017] version, Installation

When trying to apply patchset 6 on IP 2017, it fails with:

java.lang.NullPointerException
at com.oracle.siebel.patch.utility.UtilitySvc.lastFileModified(UtilitySvc.java:1119)
at com.oracle.siebel.api.patch.installer.PatchInstallerUtility.getOUIInstallLogLoc(PatchInstallerUtility.java:747)
at com.oracle.siebel.api.patch.installer.PatchInstallerUtility.verifyOUIInstallation(PatchInstallerUtility.java:678)
at com.oracle.siebel.api.patch.installer.GUIAPIPatchInstaller$1.run(GUIAPIPatchInstaller.java:538)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:745)
