Siebel Email Response Connection to Office 365 Mail Server Shows “ERROR: Could not connect to email server. JMail client in invalid state! nullLOGIN failed” in IMAP logs (Doc ID 2706994.1)

Customer was moving email from on premise email server and cannot get Siebel email response to connect to office 365 , as a result Siebel inbound email functionality was not working.

Symptoms

When attempting to send inbound email using IMAP protocol on Microsoft 365 email server, the connection fails and the following errors are displayed in the IMAP*.log:

 

Could not connect to email server. JMail client in invalid state!

nullLOGIN failed.
