Goal

During Performance testing it was observed that there are lot of index contention and cluster waits are happening for 5-6 tables.

There was recommendation to increase PCTFREE and INITRANS for following tables:

S_EVT_ACT

S_EVT_ACT_FSX

S_EVT_ACT_FNX

S_SUSP_ACT

S_EVT_MKTG

S_EVT_ACT_CAL

By default siebel generates index with PCTFREE 10 and INITRANS 2.

Q1. Will there be any other impact of increasing PCTFREE to 50 and INITRANS to 50? Is it recommended?

Q2. What will happen during DDL sync when we create new indexes? Do we need to increase it every time after DDL Sync?
