Keyword "VerifyValue" Does Not Work With Operator = "contains" When Text Contat "." Character And Application Is Not Using ENU Language (Doc ID 2734952.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 27, 2022

Applies to:

Siebel CRM - Version 17.0 [IP2017] and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When attempting to run a Test Script with a custom step using keyword VerifyValue to confirm the content of the field has the string indicated in VerifyValue using operator contains, it fails to verify the value present on the field.

On the Test Script report the custom step fails with error:

Actual Value: , Expected Value: XYZ, where XYZ string is present on the field content, and the step show as FAIL.

The Actual Value above on the report show blank and not the content of the field. The field values has a text with "." character. If the "." character is present it works fine.

The behavior is also only observed on NO ENU language Application. For English languate the keyword works fine.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Create a TestScript that query for a record on a Form applet and returns one record

2. Add a custom step with keyword VerifyValue to check a value on the Form Applet field using "contains", make sure the field value contains the "." character.

3. Execute the Test Script on a NO ENU language Siebel Application

4. The custom step added failed, Actual Value show as empty in the Test Execution Report.
