After Update/Upgrade to Siebel CRM 21.3 Or Later Email Response Stop Pulling Email From Mail Box With Error SBL-EAI-04117 - 'Status code - 404' (Doc ID 2781352.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 28, 2022

Applies to:

Siebel CRM - Version 21.3 to 21.7 [Release V17]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

After update to Siebel CRM 21.3 or later the Email Response module stop working. The Internet SMTP/IMAP or POP3 driver using the new 64-bit driver introduced in Siebel CRM 21.3 Update is not able to pull emails from the mail boxes configured for the Siebel email Response Groups.

The error observed on Communications Inbound Receiver (CommInboundRcvr component alias) log files is:

ObjMgrLog    Error    1    00000009608b1c18:0    2021-04-30 12:17:00    (httptransport.cpp (1815)) SBL-EAI-04117: HTTP Request error during 'Submitting Data SendHTTP request': 'Status code - 404'

The behavior seems to affect mainly Siebel Servers running CommInboundRcvr component where Siebel Gateway is NOT installed and has not been configured.

The steps to observed the error:

1) Configure Siebel Email Response module in prior Siebel 21.3 Update, make sure it is working.

2) Install Siebel CRM 21.3 Update or later on the Siebel Enterprise

3) Configure the new 64-bit Email drivers as per ALERT: How To Upgrade To JRE 64-bit support for Siebel IMAP and POP3 Driver for Email Response; Replaces 32-bit Driver From Siebel 21.3 and later (Doc ID 2761440.1)

4) Start the Siebel Server running CommInboundRcvr component

5) No emails are been processed, the email remains on the mail boxes

6) Inspecting the CommInboundRcvr log files the error above can be observed.
