Unable to Type Value in Textbox Based Attributes with Unbounded Picklist in eConfigurator (Doc ID 2797653.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 02, 2022

Applies to:

Siebel eConfigurator - Version 19.1 to 21.8 [Release V17]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In previous versions of Siebel (19.x), users were able to type in values into a product attribute's textbox that has an associated picklist. However, after upgrating to Siebel 21.x, the textbox is read-only even when the picklist is unbounded. Users can still select a value from the picklist's pickapplet, but there are business cases where it is desired to enter a value that is not in the picklist.

Below is a screenshot of a eConfigurator session showing the attribute being read-only.

To reproduce the issue:

1. Create a customizable product with a text attribute.

2. Associate a picklist to the attribute using product properties:
PickMap01
PickApplet
PickList

3. Open the customizable product in eConfigurator, and notice that the attribute is read-only.

Due to this issues, users are unable to enter values into the attribute that is not in the picklist.
