Goal

Enterprise on Siebel IP2016 environment with patch set 19 consists of several servers:

Server 1: SWSE
Server 2: Siebel Server
Server 3: Siebel Server
Server 4: Siebel Server, ESD, BHD
Server 5: Siebel Server, Siebel Tools
Server 6: Gateway Server, SWSE
Server 7: SWSE, CTD (Click through daemon, residing on a DMZ server)

1. Which servers need the Oracle Database Client installed?

2. Two Oracle Client services running on the servers:

OracleOraClient12Home1_32bitMTSRecoveryService
OracleOraClient12Home1_32bitTNSListener

Do these need to be running?

3. Is it fine to upgrade the Client to the latest version, where the Oracle Database Client is needed?
