Symptoms

Sporadically a Test Script recorded is missing one step. This causes problem later when executing the Test Script, since one step is missing it fails to complete the Test Script execution.

The behavior is intermittent, sometimes recording the same steps of a failed script again it works fine, that is all users navigation/click/typing are recorded correctly and the user can play the Test Script.

It was noticed that if the user records the steps slowly, adding a couple of seconds between any interaction with the UI the generated Test Script has all the steps recorded.

The behavior could be reproduce on customer environment when executing following steps:

1. Login to Siebel Application with Test Automation setup and using ?SWECmd=AutoOn

2. Open the Recording panel

3. Start recording

4. Click on Site Map icon and quickly enter on Site Map Filer "Employee List"

5. Click on Administration Users > Employee

6. Execute a query by Last Name

7. After that try to add a new record in Employee List Applet

8. Save the recording

9. Open the Recording Panel again and click on Play, the Test Script execution fails. The Report for the Test Execution shows an error when trying to execute step to go to Employee List Applet with error below:

The error above may change depending in which step it failed to record, in this particular case it failed to record the step where the user enter on Site Map the filter "Employee List".
