Oracle Client 32 Bit Installation On RedHat Linux 8 (RHEL) Fails With Error ".../Oracle_Database_Client/install/.oui: No such file or directory" (Doc ID 2887424.1)

Symptoms

When installing the Oracle 32 bit 12.2.0.0 client from the Siebel provided patchset installation files, it fails with an error displayed on the Linux Terminal:


The behaviour occurs as follows:

1. Log onto the Linux Siebel server machine

2. Open a Linux Terminal session and navigate to the location of the Oracle DB Client installation file:

$ /opt/siebel/siebel_install/IP22_05/Linux/Disk1/Oracle_Database_Client

3. Run the command:

sudo ./runInstaller

4. The reported error is generated:

$ sudo ./runInstaller
./runInstaller: line 258: /opt/siebel/siebel_install/IP22_05/Linux/Disk1/Oracle_Database_Client/install/.oui: No such file or directory
