Highlighted Text Within A Field Is Deselected When The Mouse Cursor Leaves The Field (Doc ID 2887684.1)

Symptoms

Users will need to copy certain field values in a list applet. However, there are certain cases when the user tries to copy the text value in a field, the highlighted text gets deselected if the mouse cursor is moved away from the field during the left-mouse button press.

This only happens when the field is in focus, and when the field gets deselected after it is in focus. The issue only occurs on list applets and not reproducible on form applets.

The expected behavior is that even when the mouse cursor moves away from the field column, the text should remain highlighted and not get deselected.

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps.
1. Navigate to any view with a list applet, such as the Opportunity List View.

2. Click on any field in the list applet so that it is in focus. The text is highlighted, but click on it again to unselect the text (simulating a user accidently deselecting the text). Below is the is the 'Account' field in the Opportunity List Applet.

3. Hold the left-mouse button, and drag it across the text in the 'Account' field to select the text, and move the mouse beyond the 'Account' field as per below.

4. Left go of the left-mouse button, and then the text gets deselected, and the focus is removed from the 'Account' field, which is unexpected.


Due to this, the user will have to try to select the text again.
