Symptoms

When attempting to use a custom Business Service to perform external email validation when sending an Outbound REST request, the following error occurs in the Object Manager log:

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Implement a custom Business Service to handle external email validation.
  2. Attempt to perform Outbound REST calls based on the newly created Business Service.
  3. The error is thrown in the Object Manager logs.
