Last updated on OCTOBER 06, 2024

Applies to:

Siebel CRM - Version 22.11 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After the Siebel update 22.11 installation on top of Siebel 20.9, when a user password is expired in the database and the user tries to log in to a DB authenticated Object Manager, Siebel sends a screen to have the password changed. When the user tries to update the password, the following error is displayed on the screen:

SBL-SEC-10001: An internal error occurred in the authentication subsystem for the Siebel application. Contact your system administrator for assistance.

These steps can be executed to reproduce the behavior:

1. Install Siebel update 22.11 on top of existing Siebel version 20.9. See Siebel Installation Guide > Installing Siebel CRM in an Update Installation for detailed instructions.

2. Ask the dba to make the user database password close to expire or expired.

3. Reach a Siebel Database authenticated object manager (E.g., https://<hostname>:<https-port>/siebel/app/callcenter/enu) and try to log in with that user.  Siebel UI Change Password screen is displayed. Enter a new password.

4. The error SBL-SEC-10001 initially displayed on the screen, can also be verified in the OM log file.

Changes
