Symptoms


When attempting to use inbound email on Siebel 23.1 the following error occurs: 

mail.log :

Caused by: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: The server selected protocol version TLS10 is not accepted by client preferences [TLS13, TLS12]

at sun.security.ssl.Alert.createSSLException(Unknown Source) ~[?:1.8.0_351]

...

at com.sun.mail.pop3.POP3Store.protocolConnect(POP3Store.java:191) ~[jakarta.mail.jar:1.6.3]

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Configure secure TLS Siebel Email Response communication using the below Document:

2. Send inbound email , monitor if Siebel connects to the mail server

Changes

 upgrade from Siebel 21.x to Siebel 23.1 version
