Why The Action Code In The Order Line Items Is Set To "Update" Instead of "-" In A Promotion Upgrade Scenario? (Doc ID 2958609.1)

Why The Action Code In The Order Line Items Is Set To "Update" Instead of  "-" In A Promotion Upgrade Scenario?

The below steps were taken to check the Action Code in the scenario of an Promotion Upgrade:

 1 - Product Structure under Administration - Product

Product: SN Product

SN Promo A
 Product: SN Product

SN Promo B
 Product: SN Product

2- From Administration - Product > Product Promotions > Update, set the Upgrade Path: From "SN Promo A" to "SN Promo B"

3- From Accounts > Account Summary, create an Asset and add Promotion "SN Promo A" to the Order

4- In Orders, "SN Product" is automatically added to the Order and the below Line Items are added:

Product: "SN Product" (Promotion = "SN Promo A") > Action: -

Promotion: "SN Promo A"

3- Complete the Order by setting all Status fields to "Complete and do Auto-Asset from the Menu options

4- In Installed Assets select the option "Upgrade Promotion"

It shows the Path From "SN Promo A to SN Promo B"

5- Click "Done"

6- The Order generated has the below Line Items

Product: "SN Product" > (Promotion = "SN Promo B") > Action: "UPDATE" ***** Instead of "-"

Promotion: SN Promo A > Action: "DELETE"

Promotion: SN Promo B> Action: "ADD"
