Oracle DB SE2 is not being installed during Siebel Mobile Web Client Installation (Doc ID 2970643.1)

Symptoms

Oracle DB SE2 is not being installed during Siebel Mobile Web Client installation and the following information is generated in the log file located under <siebel_client_home>\Client\cfgtoollogs\oui directory

Starting Oracle Database Instant Client Installation and configuration. Please wait...

    Oracle Database Instant Client Installation started.

Executing Command: cmd.exe /C C:\Siebel21\Sieb21Installs\Disk1\Oracle_Database_Client\setup.exe -silent -noconsole -waitforcompletion -responseFile C:\Siebel\21.12\dbclient.rsp

 Exit code of OUI process -1=


Oracle Database Instant Client Installation failed.

<siebel_image_home>\Disk1\Oracle_Database_Client not found in the image location. Installation cannot continue.



The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Launch the Siebel Mobile Web Client installer.
2. Follow the instructions provided in the screens.
