Will there be any performance impact or any other side effects of keeping event OCISqlTag=4 for Application OM Component on "Prod for a long time or always/forever"

As per the solution given in document "How To Correlate Oracle Database Sessions with Siebel Tasks? (Doc ID 2623590.1)" , does setting the OCISQLTab event to 4 for the object manager in Prod environment for long time Or for always will have any performance impact or any other side effects?
