Checksum Fail With "Error While Loading Shared Libraries: libsslcshar.so: Cannot Open Shared Object File: No Such File Or Directory" When Attempting To Install Ancestor Database Repository (Doc ID 2974327.1)

Symptoms

When attempting a new installation as part of an upgrade process from a previous Siebel version the following checksum errors are written in

oraInstall_<date>.out from <SIEBEL HOME>/cfgtoollogs/oui path:

Copying r2013.dat to $ses/dbsrvr/common/SIA

$ses/siebsrvr/bin/checksum: error while loading shared libraries: libsslcshar.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Error: checksum verification of r2013.dat failed: expected 37c09789, got

Copying r2014.dat to $ses/dbsrvr/common/SIA

$ses/siebsrvr/bin/checksum: error while loading shared libraries: libsslcshar.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Error: checksum verification of r2014.dat failed: expected 4b9eb4ad, got

Note: the error is returned for all ancestor repositories.

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. On UNIX start the Siebel CRM installer using " ./runInstaller.sh -invPtrLoc inventory_location " command, 

where inventory_location is the full path of the oraInst.loc file which points to the OUI inventory location. Use the -invPtrLoc option if you want to specify an inventory pointer file other than the default.

The Siebel Installation Location screen appears.

2. Then specify the directory in which to install the software, and click Next.

3. Select the languages that you want to install, and click Next.

4. Specify which components to install. Select Ancestor Database Repository along with Siebel Enterprise Components.

Note: Ancestor Database Repository option is available to select if you included this item when you prepared the media in Creating the Siebel Installation Image and if you chose Siebel Enterprise Components and New Database Repository.

5. Complete all the remains steps and proceed with installation. The Finish Installation screen appears.

6. Allow the process to complete then check the oraInstall_<date>.out log from <SIEBEL HOME>/cfgtoollogs/oui path.

The checksum verification fails for all *.dat ancestor repositories, but the *.dat repository files are copied to $ses/dbsrvr/common/SIA.
