External Business Components (EBCs) Not Accessible Using LDAP Authentication And Fails With "ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied" Error (Doc ID 2974741.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to access External Business Components (EBCs) using LDAP authentication on Siebel IP2017 or later version, the EBC is not accessible with LDAP. When EBC is not accessible, below errors are seen in the ObjMgr*.log for LDAP:

ObjMgrLog Error 1 0000001364ee01f8:0 2023-08-29 14:02:53 (oracon.cpp (5069)) SBL-DAT-00446: You have entered an invalid set of logon parameters. Please type in your logon parameters again.
SQLParseAndExecute Execute 5 0000001364ee01f8:0 2023-08-29 14:02:53 ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Setup LDAP profile by navigating to Site Map >> Administration - Server Configuration >> Profile Configuration >> LDAPSecAdpt profile
2. Make sure that EBC configuration is correct and provide the EBC data source information on the LDAP side for the CredentialsAttributeType definition (url attribute)
3. Test to see if EBC is accessible with LDAP authentication


Changes

 Upgrade to IP2017 or later.
