Symptoms
Hello,
I have tried looking on siebel web and on Book shelf for documents outlining the correct procedures on how to backup/restore the siebel environment and the Oracle database. So far I have not found any documents outlining the correct ways to backup the Siebel Server nor database that are helpful.
ie: Backup Siebel Database:
1) You will need to shut down the following services...
2) From that point you can use the appropriate vendor tool to backup the database.
3) Start the following services...
I would like to create a consistant plan to backup the Siebel Server itself, the Siebel respository, the Siebel Gateway, the Web Server, the Siebel Database and any pertinant system components. Do I always have to shut down the system services or can I backup the system while Siebel is still running? What is the correct methodology?
Any help in this matter would be appricated since we would like to backup the Server and Database tonight so we can proceed tomorrow with the database move.
