Large File References Are Not Deleted From Siebel Server Temp Directory (Doc ID 886313.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 06, 2021

Applies to:

Siebel Service - Version 8.1.1.1 [21211] and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When a Workflow component (or other component) completes and the Workflow Process Manager task ends, the reference to temporary files is expected to be deleted.

If/when full logging is enabled the following can be seen in the log file indicating the deletion of the file:

However, there are times when this does not happen and the tmp file remains.

This typically can happen for large files in the tmp directory that were created from some EAI specific business service calls, which are not always deleted.

As a result, it requires the workflow component (or whichever component involved with handling the large tmp files) to be shutdown in order for the delete to occur.
