BS "SIS OM PMT Service", Method "Refresh Business Component" Unexpectedly Executes Extra Queries

Symptoms
The "Refresh Business Component" method of the business service "SIS OM PMT Service" was executing additional queries unexpectedly. For example, a custom workflow was used to update 10 orders. For each order a sub workflow was called which updated the status of the order and then called the Refresh Business Component to refresh the order. For the second order the Refresh Business Component method additionally retrieved the first order. Then for the third order the Refresh Business Component method additionally retrieved the first order and the second order.
