Symptoms
A storage array is configured to present a lun to the solaris 9
operating system. The lun is greater than 2 Terabytes in size
and shows up in the 'format' utility. When the label operation
is performed, the following error is generated.
# format c2t4d8 <Enter> format> label [0] SMI Label [1] EFI Label Specify Label type[0]: 1 Ready to label disk, continue? yes The capacity of this LUN is too large. Reconfigure this LUN so that it is < 2TB. Read Capacity failed for 3 format>
