Solaris[TM] 8 and 9 Operating System: sbd warnings in /var/adm/messages on the Sun Fire[TM] V880 (Doc ID 1003511.1)

Symptoms

Sun Fire[TM] V880 system running Solaris[TM] 8 contains warnings in /var/adm/messages similar to the following:

Jul 14 12:43:27 DOMAIN krtld: [ID 472681 kern.notice] WARNING: mod_load: cannot load module 'sbd'
Jul 14 12:43:27 DOMAIN gptwo: [ID 450795 kern.warning] WARNING: cannot load sbd
Jul 14 12:43:27 DOMAIN krtld: [ID 995402 kern.notice] /platform/sun4u/kernel/misc/sparcv9/sbd: undefined symbol 'sbdp_portid_to_cpu_unit'
Jul 14 12:43:27 DOMAIN krtld: [ID 995402 kern.notice] /platform/sun4u/kernel/misc/sparcv9/sbd: undefined symbol 'plat_max_cmp_units_per_board'

krtld: /platform/SUNW,Sun-Fire-880/kernel/misc/sparcv9/sbdp: undefined symbol
'gptwocfg_unconfigure'
krtld: /platform/SUNW,Sun-Fire-880/kernel/misc/sparcv9/sbdp: undefined symbol
'gptwocfg_configure'

Additionally I needed to apply patch 112169-05
NOTE after applying the suggested patches and workarounds I still got
the errors below until I applied patch 112169-05
Jul 13 15:07:56 DOMAIN platmod: [ID 531893 kern.warning] WARNING: Failed to install "bbc" driver.
Jul 13 15:07:56 DOMAIN platmod: [ID 531893 kern.warning] WARNING: Failed to install "gptwo" driver.

Then installed patch 112169-05
And no more errors
