Symptoms

CD-RW writer fails to write to CD-RW media, reporting an error message when writing an ISO image. For example:

# cdrw -M
Device : PIKA ONE RIP 8000
Firmware : Rev. EA04 ()
Media is blank

# cdrw -i /var/tmp/solaris.iso
Looking for CD devices...
Initializing device...done.
Writing track 1...failed.
done.
Finalizing (Can take several minutes)...failed.
Could not finalize the disc.
