Goal

In the following example, multiple soft partitions are created from a single metadevice using Solaris Volume Manager (SVM).  We now have the requirement to mirror the existing data.  The problem is that you cannot use soft partitions directly as submirrors. If you try, the command will fail with the following error.

 This document shows how to work around this problem with minimal downtime while preserving all data on the soft partitions.
