BSM's 'praudit' Fails to Read Log Files Larger Than 2GB (Doc ID 1006007.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 18, 2023

Applies to:

Solaris Operating System - Version 8.0 and later
All Platforms

Symptoms

Attempts to run SunSHIELD[TM] BSM's "praudit" (/usr/sbin/praudit) fail against a 4.3 GB log file with the following message:

praudit -l <4.3 GB audit filename> praudit: Can't assign <4.3 GB audit filename> to stdin

The utility runs successfully against an 800 MB and other smaller files.

Increasing swap does not resolve problem.
