Goal

A Sun Fire[TM] V1280, E2900 and Netra 1280/1290 can be upgraded to PCI+ capabilities by replacing its existing PCI I/O Controller for a PCI+ equivalent.

This document shows the device paths associated with each PCI+ slot and where these differ from the older PCI I/O Controller. It also offers guidance on the PCI-to-PCI+ upgrade requirements to overcome the differences in the device paths.
