Goal

This document concentrates on the behaviour of the cron daemon at the times when the displayed time changes between "Daylight Saving" and "Standard".

1007420.1 explains how timezone strings and files affect the presentation of date and time values and how timezone information is used "on the fly" to ensure that the correct date and time is always presented whether or not "Daylight Saving Time" is in effect at any given time.
