Goal

The Goal of this document is to provide an overview of some common types of system issues which impact the entire server.


System Crashes, Panics, Unexplained Reboots, Unresponsive, Slow or Hung Systems.

Each of the above can be caused by many different things, and this document will help you clarify the problem and identify what steps should be taken in order to most effectively get your issue resolved.

This document will not directly provide a solution but should help you either locate a document to directly assist you or assist you with creating a service request with enough technical data to ensure that the request can proceed.

This Document consists of three parts

  1. Identify the specific problem with enough detail to search MOS or create a Service Request.
  2. Identify Actions to take or avoid, and what data to collect.
  3. Identify some proactive steps which can be done to avoid some issues.
