No Grub Menu and/or Login Prompt on Serial Console in Solaris[TM]10 x86 (Doc ID 1012953.1)

The system boots but:

1. During system startup, the grub menu does NOT appear on the serial console.

If console redirection is used, the grub menu appears during system startup in graphical (not text) format.

And (optionally):

2. There is no login prompt on the serial console.

If console redirection is used, the Graphical (CDE/JDS) login screen appears. Selecting Options -> Command Line Login also results in a login prompt.
