Solaris Operating System High Hard Error value in iostat -E output (Doc ID 1017741.1)

Last updated on MARCH 25, 2024

Applies to:

Solaris Operating System - Version 8 6/00 U1 and later
SPARC T4-1 - Version Not Applicable and later
All Platforms

Goal

A high Hard Error value in 'iostat -E' output does not necessarily mean an alarm condition on a device.

Some specific conditions of the target device, can cause it to be high. But if this continues to increase with other related device errors, it needs to be investigated further.
