Solaris 10 Operating System FMD (Fault Management Daemon) core dumps due to customized snmpd.conf file (Doc ID 1020519.1)

Symptoms

The Fault Management Daemon can core dump causing the /var file system to fill up and potentially run out of disk space. As a result, the FMD smf service, svc:/system/fmd:default, will not online.

The FMD service will remain in a maintenance state when the fmd daemon core dumps.
Run the following to determine the state of the service:

 The pstack command will need to be run against the application core file to determine possible cause and resolution.
