Solaris Cluster 3.x Global Filesystem Fail to Mount at Boot Time with "_cladm CL_GBLMNT_ENABLE Device busy" (Doc ID 1347711.1)

Symptoms

Upon boot of a cluster node, the svc:/system/cluster/globaldevices smf service is in maintenance state:

node1# svcs -l svc:/system/cluster/globaldevices:default
fmri svc:/system/cluster/globaldevices:default
name Suncluster globaldevices service
enabled true
state maintenance
next_state none
state_time August 8, 2011 8:37:25 AM MEST


Log file for that service shows:

[ Aug 8 08:37:24 Executing start method ("/usr/cluster/lib/svc/method/globaldevices start") ]
[ Aug 8 08:37:25 Method "start" exited with status 96 ]


The following message is also reported on the console:

_cladm: CL_GBLMNT_ENABLE: Device busy

WARNING - Unable to globally mount all filesystems.
Check logs for error messages and correct the problems.
After the problems are corrected, please clear the
maintenance flag on globaldevices by running the
following command:
/usr/sbin/svcadm clear svc:/system/cluster/globaldevices:default
