Solaris Volume Manager (SVM) Local File Systems Fails to Mount at Boot When metadb/replicas Configured on iSCSI or Fabric Attached LUNs (Doc ID 1364635.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 02, 2018

Applies to:

Solstice DiskSuite Software - Version 4.2 and later
Sun Solaris Volume Manager (SVM) - Version 11.9.0 and later
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (32-bit)
Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)
Oracle Solaris on x86 (32-bit)

Solaris Volume Manger (SVM) local filesystems may not mount at boot when SVM state database replicas (metadb) are placed on iscsi LUNs or other fabric attached LUNs.

At boot, md devices are not available and as a result, fs-local moves into maintenance as mountall fails

Bootlog shows:

Reading ZFS config: done.
Mounting ZFS filesystems: (10/10)

WARNING - Unable to repair one or more filesystems.
