Goal
This document summarizes the actions to undertake in order to re-enable Automatic Service Request (ASR) for an array which has a change of its Serial Number (SN#). A SN# change occurs when specific parts are replaced on in the product on the controller tray. This can be, but not limited to:
- Tray Midplane replacement on a 2500, 2500-M2, 6130, 6140, 6180, or Flexline 240 Controller Tray.
- Controller Tray Interconnect Controller/ICC, on a Flexline 380, 6540, 6580, or 6780 Controller Tray.
When this situation occurs, your array will attempt to contact Oracle with a new serial number, which is not registered under your service contract. As such,
the ASR service will not open any SRs for this unit. Your contract information must be updated, and the array must be reactivated in My Oracle Support.
